Recognizing His Gifts While Painting Automotives

For Carlos Ruiz, starting his own company as an automotive paint technician has been a way for him to recognize and use the gifts that he has been blessed with to support his family.

Carlos shares: “Due to my country’s difficult economic and employment situation, I felt that I should take the “My Business” Academy course. I was able to recognize the skills and gifts I already possessed to start my own business and with guidance from our Heavenly Father, we set out to create our own automotive paint technician business.

After evaluating the necessary initial investment to start my business, I realized that I did not have the money to buy the materials and supplies I needed to begin. Nevertheless, with help from friends and family, I was able to start. I began following the Rules of Thumb such as "Start Small; Think Big.

I began marketing our business so that we could build a portfolio of actual customers. I called friends, and family and let the local community know that we had a business that could meet their vehicle's needs. After creating a small portfolio, everything went very well. In the first two months of the operation, we had the necessary income to meet basic expenses such as rent and utilities.

We currently have the full trust of more than 200 actual customers. It is wonderful to have loyal clients. They see that we are an honest, dependable, and dedicated business.

This business has been a blessing for my household since it is our main source of income. It has also been a blessing for me because I have been able to grow professionally and gain additional knowledge. 

During this process, I have been able to recognize the gifts that my Heavenly Father has given me and I have been able to develop and strengthen them through my business.”
